Proven innovation that cuts installation costs and keeps production moving
Honeyman Water’s HydroGienic® system has transformed pharmaceutical water distribution, combining a proven track record with the flexibility modern manufacturing facilities demand.
Pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers are under increasing pressure to control capital costs, maximise uptime and build facilities that can adapt as production requirements change.
HydroGienic® provides a proven solution to common constraints in conventional water distribution loops where queueing for water is not uncommon. HydroGienic® removes queueing as it delivers flexibility to all user points where they are needed, maintaining guaranteed flow and pressures irrespective of usage. Its flexible nature allows for easy modification of user point (re)location without shutting down an entire site.
Originally recognised with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation in 2018, HydroGienic® has seen rapid traction across UK / Ireland based pharmaceutical manufacturers where flexibility and continuity of supply are critical.
Flexibility without the shutdown
The key difference is HydroGienic®’s distribution design. With a conventional recirculating loop, making significant changes to the distribution system requires the entire system to be shut down, potentially creating major disruption to production and output.
HydroGienic® takes a different approach. Its configuration is based on individual loops per user points which can be managed and modified while the wider distribution system remains operational. That means manufacturers can isolate, add, relocate or modify individual user points without taking their whole water distribution system offline.
As the system is designed to provide guaranteed flow and pressure at each user point, irrespective of usage elsewhere, it gives manufacturers greater certainty as facilities evolve.
Lower installation cost. Greater long-term flexibility.
HydroGienic® can also significantly simplify installation compared with traditional welded stainless-steel systems as no hotworks is required outside the plantroom
Honeyman Water’s experience shows potential reductions of up to 50% in total installation time, with plant-room-to-user-point installation reduced by up to 75%. Typical systems can also deliver around 25% capital cost savings.
All HydroGienic® storage and distribution systems are available with either automatic heat or Ozone sanitisation cycles, and can be fitted with online TOC where required.
Available in configurations of 6 to 30 userpoints, the HydroGienic® system can deliver combined offtake flows ranging between 150lpm (9m3/hr) to 900lpm (54m3/hr).
For manufacturers, the proposition is straightforward:
Install faster. Spend less. No more queueing in production. And retain the flexibility to change the system when the business needs changes.
